Riddet Scholarships
The Riddet Institute offers up to 30 scholarships for doctoral research, either as part of existing projects within the Riddet CoRE Research Programme, or new projects funded from the Earle Food Research Fund.
The scholarships are open to any student eligible to enrol full-time at a New Zealand university for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, and supervised by a named investigator in the Riddet Institute CoRE research programme.
Riddet scholarships provide a stipend of $25,000 per annum for up to three years, plus an allowance for fees of up to $6,000 per annum.
The Riddet Institute aims to support high achieving postgraduate students. Students would normally be expected to have an excellent academic record, which may include a publication history and research experience. In addition students are expected to have a clear understanding of how their research will contribute to the aims of the Riddet CoRE research programme and to food research in New Zealand.
Riddet Scholarship holders will benefit from opportunities to:
- work with world class scientists on cutting edge research in the fields of food and nutrition
- gain exposure to a wide range of scientific disciplines forming the Riddet Institute’s capability
- participate in symposia and conferences which bring together researchers, students and industry from around New Zealand and from overseas
- contribute to the future of New Zealand’s agri-food industry
